Why WebP can make images smaller

WebP is a web image format for both photos and graphics. At the same display size, it can often produce smaller files than JPG or PNG, helping pages load faster.

For logos with crisp edges or transparent backgrounds, PNG or lossless WebP can be a better choice. Compare WebP or JPG for photos, and PNG or WebP for transparent graphics.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are my images stored on your server?

No. This tool uses browser image-processing features. Your selected files and converted results are not sent to a server, and the list disappears when you close the page.

Does converting to WebP reduce image quality?

Lossy compression can reduce quality. For typical web photos, start around 75–85 and increase the value for text or fine details.

Is PNG transparency preserved?

PNG and WebP output preserve transparency. JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white.

Do you support animated GIF or HEIC files?

The current version supports JPG, PNG and WebP. Animated GIF and HEIC conversion may be considered for a future release.
